Loan Originator - Elgin Office

Seeking an experienced mortgage loan originator to bring your talents to our progressive community bank.  Candidate should be a flexible, highly motivated individual with good communication skills to develop relationships and assist customers with the home financing process. Strong financial aptitude and attention to detail are required.  Excellent benefits, expense account and salary/commission package. Responsibilities:
Network with real estate professionals and community leaders to establish relationships and a presence in the mortgage market.

Communicate the benefits of First Federal Savings Bank to professional networks and potential customers to generate loan applications.

Maintain a database of leads and prospects with both manual and automated follow up to develop into loan applications.

Interviews applicant and request documentation specific to the loan program.

Issue disclosures following applicable compliance guidelines, order appraisals, title reports, and other documentation needed for a complete application package.

Manage a pipeline of applications in process to facilitate loan approval and a successful closing.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of current mortgage origination experience with a proven track record of success
  • An active NMLS license required
  • Current referral base
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Familiarity with current lending regulations
  • Must be self-motivated and have an ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment. 

Business Developer - Morris & Shorewood Markets

The Business Development Officer is responsible for soliciting and originating new commercial banking relationships, including commercial loans, commercial deposit products and referrals to our Mortgage Loan Officer and to our licensed Insurance Agent for commercial insurance products. The individual should be active in the Morris and Shorewood markets, as strong community involvement is essential. We are seeking a candidate who can develop our presence and grow our commercial loan and deposit customer base and portfolio in these branch communities. 

Responsibilities:
Identify and develop commercial client opportunities.

Establish new commercial customer relationships.

Meet or exceed bank targets for commercial loan, deposit, and insurance referral production.

Work closely with Mortgage Loan Officers to develop mutual referral sources and mortgage referral leads through community activities and assessment of customer needs.

Meet or exceed mortgage lead referral goals.

Travel and community involvement.

Deliver professional and excellent customer service.

Work with retail staff on cross sale opportunities.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, business or related field.
  • Five or more years of commercial lending experience.
  • Past proven record of prospecting new business and meeting individual sales goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with current lending regulations.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements.
